Selection of Primary Crusher

2011-06-07 07:15:03     ViewTimes:1071

The selection of the primary crusher is the key to the success of any operation that involves size reduction. Each of the various types of primary crushers is discussed. The material hardness, impact strength and abrasive index define which primary crushers are acceptable. Required capacity, feed and product sizes are considered to narrow the selection and define the physical size of the crushers. Once the acceptable primary crushers have been identified, the selection is further defined by above ground or underground location of the plant if the crusher is to be stationary or with some degree of mobility.

DEFINITION

The primary crusher selection is the key to the success of the mining, quarrying or industrial minerals operation that involves the reduction in size of rock, ore or minerals. The crusher plant can be provided with almost any type of primary rock crasher.

  • The rock/ore determines the type of crusher
  • The plant capacity determines the size of the crusher

As the term "primary" implies these crushers are used in the first stage on any size reduction cycle. These crushers take blasted, run-of-mint, or run-of-quarry feed up to 1500 mm (60 inches) and produces a product ranging in size from -300 nun (12") for conveyor transport, or -300 mm (8") for SAG mill feed; to -38 mm when crushing soft, non-abrasive materials such as limestone. The primary can produce these sizes at a rate of 150 to 12,000 MTPH per hour depending on the feed characteristics, crusher setting and crusher size.

The family of primary crushers include the:

How does PE Jaw Crusher Work?

PE Jaw crusher machine uses motor as its power. Through the motor's wheels, the eccentric shaft is driven by the triangle belt and slot wheel to make the movable jaw plate move by a regulated track. Therefore, the materials in the crushing cavity composed of fixed jaw plate, movable jaw plate and side-lee board can be crushed and discharged through the discharging opening.

How does JCE Jaw Crusher Work?

Through the triangle belt, the flywheel is driven by the motor. Then the flywheel drives the eccentric shaft to make the movable jaw plate do reciprocating motion.. Materials will be crushed when the movable jaw plate move towards to the fixed jaw plate. End products will be discharged through the discharging opening when the movable jaw plate move backwards.
